Community Schools:
San Pedro, California is served by the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are also excellent private elementary and high schools in San Pedro. The LAUSD has a Magnet School program. For students living in the Los Angeles Unified School District, magnet schools offer a range of educational possibilities. Magnet programs are voluntary integration opportunities available to students in grades K-12. There are over 130 magnet programs located in centers all over the district, from San Pedro High's Marine Science Magnet to Sylmar High's Math Science Tech in the San Fernando Valley. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department is the largest sheriff's department in the world. In addition to specialized services, such as the Sheriff's Youth Foundation, International Liaison and Employee Support Services, the Department is divided into eleven divisions, each headed by a Division Chief.

Pet/Animal Application:
Pet-friendly housing providers use PetScreening to screen household pets, validate reasonable accommodation requests for assistance animals and confirm every resident understands their pet policies. In general, the LASC web site collects and aggregates user information regarding use of our web sites and web pages for purposes of statistical and other analysis so as to help us improve our web sites. Among other things, LASC may collect and record domain names and/or IP addresses. This tells us what services are used by distinct users, but does not tell us the individual identities of the users.
In some areas of the LASC web site, in order for us to provide the specific services, we do require and record personally identifiable information. This is done with users’ active permission and participation.
